On Friday, Oct. 8, the students and staff at Hicksville High School were excited to welcome back the annual Homecoming pep rally celebration.
The pep rally was held on the football field lined with the drummers from the Hicksville High School Band. The program started with 12th grader Allison George singing the National Anthem.
Eleventh and twelfth graders filled the bleachers while ninth and tenth grades were assigned to sitting in the end zone areas. Students were reminded to maintain social distancing while on the field or in the bleachers.
The fall varsity athletic teams were introduced and every player on each team was named. The Pep Rally started with the Varsity Cheerleaders and was followed by the Varsity Boys’ Soccer Team, Varsity Girls’ Soccer Team, Varsity Boys’ and Girls’ Cross-Country Teams,
Varsity Girls’ Tennis, Varsity Girls’ Swimming & Diving Team, Varsity Boys’ Volleyball, Varsity Girls’ Volleyball, Varsity Girls’ Swimming & Diving Team, Varsity Football Team and the Varsity Kick Line Starlets to conclude.
Comet Pride was beaming from the entire stadium on Friday. Student and staff alike were anxiously awaiting the following day’s Homecoming Fair and football game when the Hicksville Comets took on Uniondale.
All Hicksville Public School alumni and families were welcomed to attend. Once a Comet, Always a Comet.
