During the month of November, students at Central Boulevard Elementary School in Bethpage took part in Beyond the Badge’s program: Cards for Cops. Beyond the Badge is a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise awareness of suicide and mental health within law enforcement.

As part of this month’s Thoughtful Thursday, students in Barbara Cataldi’s second grade class colored their own cards and wrote an encouraging message to police officers on Nov. 18.
