The search for a mother of four who was missing for two weeks came to a tragic end Thursday when Suffolk County police found the woman dead and arrested her husband for allegedly killing her.
Melissa Molinari, 38, who was last seen Nov. 21 at her family’s Centereach home, was found dead in the Rocky Point Barrens State Forest off Currans Road in Middle Island, police said Friday. Her husband, Marcello Molinari, 43, was charged with second-degree murder.
The victim’s family reported her missing on Dec. 2. Her vehicle was left in the driveway at the time.
Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation. The woman’s body was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office, where an autopsy will be conducted.
Marcello Molinari is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
