Therapy Dogs Visit Lee Avenue School

Pet Partners visited Renee Rust’s class at Lee Avenue Elementary School, in coordination with Principal Stephanie Matthews-Stam and Special Education Director Inna Mishiev.

Rust is new to the Hicksville School District and connected with Pet Partners to coordinate this event. Pet Partners is a national leader in demonstrating and promoting the health and wellness benefits of animal-assisted therapy, activities and education.

Students had the opportunity to engage with therapy dogs by means of certified pet therapy handlers. Students were able to engage with the dogs and feed them treats. Pet Partners has many animals that have been trained to visit schools and the district is looking forward to a continued partnership.
