ERASE Racism, a nonprofit civil rights organization, elected Bhandarkar to its board of directors. She has nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare and civic engagement and has dedicated her professional career to improving access to quality healthcare for marginalized populations. She most recently served as Lead for the Social Determinants Team at NYC Heath + Hospitals, the largest public health system in the nation.
Tarun Wasil, MD
New York Cancer & Blood Specialists, one of the nation’s leading oncology practices, hired board-certified hematologist-oncologist Dr. Wasil, who will be practicing at its Lake Success office. Dr. Wasil is an eminent hematologist-oncologist with years of diverse experience in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, Lymphomas, Multiple Myeloma, GI malignancies, Breast cancer, and Lung cancer, and he is passionate about immunology.
Kimberly Mosscrop
The Smithtown-based law firm of Futterman, Lanza & Pasculli, LLP hired Mosscrop as an associate who concentrates primarily in the areas of Trusts, Estates, Elder Law and Medicaid. In her practice, she handles Will preparation, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies and Living Wills. She also completes asset protection and Medicaid eligibility planning, and applications for Medicaid benefits.
Jose Dominguez
The American Red Cross on Long Island appointed Dominguez as its new CEO. He will oversee Red Cross program management, represent the organization, and manage daily Red Cross activities across the Island. Dominguez will work with the Long Island Red Cross Chapter Board of Directors to effectively mobilize support and resources for the Red Cross mission and with volunteers to enhance service delivery.
Alison Leigh Epilone
Epilone has joined the law firm of Quatela Chimeri PLLC, which has offices in Hauppauge and Garden City, where she is concentrating in the areas of matrimonial and family law. She was previously the Principal Law Clerk to the Supervising Judge of the Suffolk County Matrimonial Parts. She has held positions in the private sector of law for 10 years as well as an adjunct professor at Touro Law Center and serves as Secretary for the Suffolk County Matrimonial Bar Association.
Michael Gitman, MD
Northwell Health appointed Dr. Gitman to lead Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center as its executive director. Dr. Gitman has served as medical director at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) in Manhasset since 2014 and succeeds Michael Goldberg, who departs Northwell to pursue other opportunities outside of the health system. Dr. Gitman was part of the leadership team that recruited physician talent and developed complex clinical programs that expanded NSUH’s reach and capabilities, including transplantation.
Debra Langendorff
The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program appointed Langendorff to its board. Langendorff is a 14-year breast cancer survivor and volunteer with the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program, answering the hotline and presenting at outreach events. For many years she worked as a Special Education teacher, serving the needs of children with disabilities. She works at Masterpiece Printers as an executive assistant. She also volunteers as corresponding secretary at her synagogue.
Thomas Dolce
Briscoe Protective, a Centereach-based leader in the Fire and Security Services Industry, tapped Dolce to fill a new role at Briscoe Protective as CFO. Dolce is joining the Executive Management Team and brings more than 25 years of financial, accounting with merger and acquisition experience.
