Resurrection Lutheran Church’s Women’s Ministry will hold their annual Spring Plant Sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 30.

Featured this year, in addition to the usual perennials, annuals, hanging baskets, ornamental grasses, vegetable seedlings, and flats, there will be succulents, combination baskets, ferns, and trees. There is something for everyone and certainly gift ideas for the following Mother’s Day. These high-quality plants are provided by a popular East End grower at reasonable prices. Come early for best selection.

Every year 100 percent of the plant sale proceeds are earmarked for a worthy organization that supports the rehabilitation of our veterans. Over the years, the recipients have included Bethesda Naval Hospital, the Walter Reed Society, Building Homes for Heroes, The Independence Fund, and America’s VetDogs. This year the funds will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is primarily known for its mission to First Responders. They now have a new program, Operation Homebase, which helps our nation’s homeless veteran communities. They provide tiny-homes across all 50 states to veterans who are homeless
