If you woke up this morning and thought, “I’d like to save a life today,” well then we got you covered. And as an added bonus, adopting an animal saves two lives: the one you bring home and the safe space you opened up at a rescue/shelter for another one.

**Special Request** Mia is a 3-year-old Mastiff and Lab Mix who has sadly been a resident of the Animal Shelter for more than two years. She is a goofy dog that loves to play and throw toys around. Mia is a big fan of going on car rides and snuggling up with her favorite people! It takes her some time to get used to strangers, but once you become friends with her, she’ll reward you with kisses for life. She will need a home that can properly introduce her to new people in a way that makes her feel safe. Mia would do best in a home without any other pets or children.
If you are interested in meeting Mia, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with her in a domestic setting, which includes a Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs, and Dog Walk trail. For more information, call the Smithtown Animal Shelter at 631-360-7575.
Available for adoption at the Babylon Animal Shelter
Butchie arrived at the shelter last May at less than a year old. A tall and handsome cane corso with a shy side who would need multiple meet and greets at the shelter. He does better with the ladies, and he has a few ladies that he absolutely adores at the shelter.
Butchie is dog social, but he needs to learn to be more confident about any new people around him. He would benefit from a breed experienced adopter to show him what life has to offer. No cats or young children for Butchie.
For more information about adopting Butchie, contact the shelter at 631-643-9270.
Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America
**Double Adoption and Senior Alert** Rum Tum Tugger (Adoption #H210443) isn’t a very curious cat. In fact, this shy senior is content to cuddle into his favorite sibling Catherine the Great (Adoption #H210441). These bonded 10-year-old tabbies, along with the rest of their cat family, had to begin new lives after they lost their previous home and owner last spring. They’d lived their whole lives swapping cuddles together and NSALA has intend for them to spend the rest of their lives side by side, being adored by a new adopter. Catherine has leaned heavily on Rum Tum for support as she slowly acclimates to life away from the only home they’d known. Rum Tum is loyal to a fault and barely leaves Catherine’s side. These wonderful seniors would love a peaceful, predictable home with no young children, and adults experienced in nurturing tender souls. If you feel you have the heart for a sweet pair of deserving seniors, please ask about meeting Rum Tum Tugger and his beloved Catherine the Great!
The exceedingly lovely Ophelia (Adoption #H210280) has become quite content in her comfy bed, but she’ll allow her nap to be interrupted if you’re offering her some gentle chin scratches. This locally rescued 3-year-old lady has been dreaming about your visit, hoping it will lead to many more years of those chin scratches in a quiet home. A loving human who has had cats before will understand just how much a gentle touch means to her. Ophelia would appreciate her home having understanding children (age eight and older, please) who can provide her the tranquility she thrives in. She’s also a lovely companion for equally serene roommates, making her a nice choice for a family seeking a gentle friend for their quiet cat at home.
When you first meet Faith (Adoption #G23101), you’ll think she’s a kitten. It’s so hard to believe this tiny 1-year-old tortie was recently a momma to five babies! Faith has put all her faith in NSALA to find a family to cherish her now that the hard work in our nursery is behind her. Spend a few moments with Faith and you’ll want to carry her off to the well-earned, happy, new beginning she’s been dreaming about all these weeks.
One-year-old Papyrus (Adoption #G27787) traveled all the way from Georgia hoping her forever family finds her here up north. She’ll be quietly waiting near the sunny window of her room in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. Do you have an empty window needing someone striking to adorn it? This serene beauty would love nothing more than to keep you company in your quiet home.
**Senior Alert and Special Request** Fifteen-year-old Sundance (Adoption #H185743) was abandoned to the streets after spending her whole life with her first family. Delivered by heroes to Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center, this sensational grand dame will never have to worry about her safety again. We’ve surrounded her with all the loving hands she’s been missing, and she’s abundantly grateful to receive so much care. Because she’s very uncomfortable with other animals, NSALA is making sure her golden years will be spent as the sole object of her new family’s affection. Become Sundance’s hero and you’ll quickly be on the receiving end of some very heartfelt head butts!
If you’re dreaming about someone pretty to call your own, 1-year-old Priscilla (Adoption #NCI2769) is a pretty great choice for you. This young beauty is stunning inside and out, so we predict she’ll find her very first home in no time at all.
Ollie (Adoption #H210844) has had a difficult time recently. This 1-and-a-half-year-old boy lost his first home and needs our help to find a new one, one with experienced adults who can provide him plenty of activities to keep his nimble mind and need for playtime well met. This gorgeous orange boy doesn’t enjoy the company of other cats, but a home of his own will restore his plucky purrsonality. If you have a predictable place for him to plop, one with no young kids to disturb him, Ollie could be the partner for adventure you’ve been hoping for!
