**Senior Alert** Anyone have a couch for a sweet senior girl? Cece came to the shelter last August in pretty rough shape. She is on the road to healing but will likely need lifetime maintenance for her skin issues. Cece is a very friendly girl, happy to see everyone and to make new friends. Cece becomes so attached to her people that she doesn’t want to be alone!! Cece deserves a wonderful home where she can spread her joy with those she shares her life with. Cece seeks a home as the only pet but hasn’t met a person she doesn’t love.

Check out Pinto, the sweet, mostly black kitten except for a small white patch on his chest. This adorable playful boy loves playtime with feathers. He also enjoys the cat tree with scratching posts. Pinto can be shy but enjoys affection from people by being petted and will purr once he is comfortable. He does like other kitties and is a good-natured kitten. With Pintos endless energy we ask that there be another your cat in the home or him to go home with another kitten. He is also good around small dogs.

**Special Request** Mia is a 3-year-old Mastiff and Lab Mix who has sadly been a resident of the Animal Shelter for over two years. She is a goofy dog that loves to play and throw toys around. Mia is a big fan of going on car rides and snuggling up with her favorite people! It takes her some time to get used to strangers, but once you become friends with her, she’ll reward you with kisses for life. She will need a home that can properly introduce her to new people in a way that makes her feel safe. Mia would do best in a home without any other pets or children.
If you are interested in meeting Mia, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with her in a domestic setting, which includes a Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs, and Dog Walk trail. For more information, call the Smithtown Animal Shelter at 631-360-7575.
Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America
When Gizelle (Adoption #NCR5932) first arrived last spring, she needed assurance that she was indeed safe. Time in a sunny room with respectful cat friends and human cheerleaders has brought out the fun-loving Gizelle. This terrific 3-year-old tabby can still be cautious in new situations, but a family with experienced adults and children over age six will quickly provide her the security she needs to learn how to be part of a family. Most of all, Gizelle longs to sun herself, content in knowing she’s safe and sound. We can’t wait for her to discover each and every window in your house and know what it means to be a cherished member of the family!
Lovey (Adoption #H211226) was found locally and lovingly cared for by her hero rescuer before she joined Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. This tender 9-month-old tabby kitten likes to watch her friends from the safety of her bed but has become more and more interested in giving playtime a try. Her favorite activities are rolling in catnip and kicking around a silver vine stick! She’s shown us that a quiet home with kids over the age of ten will make her feel nice and settled. If you have your heart set on someone tiny, cute, and in need of some gentle reassurance, please ask about meeting Lovey!
**Double Adoption** When 6-month-olds Jasmine (Adoption #G27794) and Violet (Adoption #G27795) arrived after a long trip from a municipal shelter in Georgia, they asked for some time to settle into their new environment. Time is exactly what these beautiful sisters needed to feel confident in their room. Violet is now bounding around, chasing toys and playing with friends. Jasmine is interested, but not quite as self-assured yet as her sister about all the freedom they have now. A quiet home with children over age 10 will be the right fit for Jasmine and Violet. With a little time, you’ll yield a lifetime of reward for making them part of your life!
NSALA’s sister shelter up in Glen Falls reached out for help with a very special little lady with a very special heart problem. They welcomed 3-year-old Spider (Adoption #NCI2723) to Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center, providing her a plan to keep her healthy while we work to find her a home worthy of her. Spider may have a few obstacles, but she literally leaps over them and into the arms of everyone she meets. Making fast friends is her special talent! As if her personality isn’t enough to catch your attention, check out the adorable heart on her very boopable nose. This tenacious tuxedo is going to inspire you daily with that can-do spirit!
**Double Adoption** Andy (Adoption #NCI2784) can be a little shy at first. It’s a good thing his sidekick Anne (Adoption #NCI2785) is always going to be there to make him feel more comfortable. Anne is up for all the fun we have to offer, and NSALA predicts Andy will soon be following his bestie around. Your quiet home may be Andy and Anne’s first, one they’ll be so happy to share together with you!
What a lucky boy Buckley (Adoption #H211261) is! This sweet 10-month-old treasure was rescued locally and offered a chance at a safe life indoors. His time outside has left him FIV+, but that’s not diminishing the pawsibilities ahead for him. NSALA is delighted to watch him enjoy new experiences each day in his room in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. Bubbles are a favorite! Want to be by his side while he explores a fresh start in your home? Come visit and ask to be introduced to your new best friend.
Elijah (Adoption #WV0309) is finding his own way into our hearts in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center after being transported from a municipal shelter in West Virginia. NSALA is discovering what would make this eight-month-old boy happiest in a home, and he seems to want a feline friend to show him the way and keep him entertained. This charming boy has a lot of energy and would do great in an experienced home (with children over age eight) who’ll enjoy keeping up with him while teaching him appropriate ways to play. A confident, energetic cat in the home will be thrilled to welcome him and show him the way around home life. If you’re looking to add someone fun to your clowder, please come meet Elijah!
