Hempstead McDonald’s Shooting Leaves Teen Dead
A teenager was fatally shot outside of a McDonald’s in Hempstead on Wednesday afternoon and investigators are searching for the shooter, Nassau County police said.
Village police officers responded to a report of shots fired at the restaurant on Peninsula Boulevard, where the 19-year-old victim, Hector Valencia Gomez, of Hempstead, was found to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at 3:48 p.m., police said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made in the case, and the investigation is ongoing. Nassau County Police Department is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for anonymous tips that lead to an arrest in the case.
