The nineteenth-century love triangles of the Brower clan resulted in violent feuds of jealous farmers.

Eccentric millionaire Jacques Lebaudy took part in bizarre escapades due to his belief that he was a sovereign emperor while living on his Gilded Age Salisbury estate.

The fight over a Pete Seeger performance at one of New York’s original school districts was full of politics and drama that led all the way to the state Court of Appeals.

Author and educator Dr. Scott M. Eckers reveals compelling narratives of East Meadow’s hidden past, in his new book, Hidden History of East Meadow, published in Oct. 17, 2022 by The History Press.

Eckers is a trustee and past president of the East Meadow Union Free School District. In 2016, he wrote East Meadow, part of Arcadia Publishing’s Images of America series, and previously helped to establish and curate the Swan Lake Historical Pavilion in the Sullivan County Catskills.
