Long Island soccer fans are amped up about the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which kicked off on Nov. 20 and runs through Dec. 18 in Qatar.
Despite reported human rights violations as the country prepared for the massive sporting event, the 22nd FIFA World Cup is drawing in viewers to support the 32 teams from across the globe. Bars and restaurants on Long Island are displaying pride for various countries and showing the games on their screens for patrons to watch together.

Head to Plattduetsche Park for watch parties of the World Cup face-offs. The restaurant and biergarten’s website has a full list of watch party times so you can follow the competition. It will also offer a special menu and a passport card that the staff will stamp for each country that’s playing when you visit. It’s an exciting time of year at Prost in Garden City! The bar is decked out in flags from all different countries, and they will show many of the World Cup games. Celebrate the World Cup with beer deals at Rudi’s Bar & Grill. The restaurant is offering $3 drafts of Estrella and Super Bock during World Cup games, in addition to its usual daily beer and lunch specials. 554 NY-112, Patchogue.

Watch every World Cup game at Secatogue Brewing Co. in West Islip. The brewery will open two hours before each televised match so you can grab a beer and pop a squat before the games begin. There will be indoor viewings and outdoor viewings under a tent with a projector, plus food trucks. Ages 21 and older, and no dogs allowed. 375 Union Blvd., West Islip.
