Meet Cleopatra! Born September 2016, this is one gorgeous cat! Described as calm and affectionate, Cleopatra loves chin, cheek, and ear scratches and likes to be close to her person. When she wants to play, she likes to go after wand toys and loves catnip filled toys and cardboard scratchers, but there’s nothing like a soft comfy bed to nap in if you ask her. Cleopatra is happier being a single cat but a calm canine friend with proper introduction would be fine.
To adopt Cleopatra complete an adoption application here: tenderlovingcats.org/adoption-application.html.
Available for adoption through Lend-a-Paw
Susie, a kitten from our Rugrats litter, was born in a volunteer’s kitchen last summer by her mom, Didi Pickles. The whole litter was rescued and they have been brought up in foster homes. They are doing great and are looking for their forever homes! Whether it is from their litter or not they would like to have at least one other sibling to play with. They can’t wait to find a loving home!
**Special Request** Akira is 3 years old and was rescued from the NYC ACC a few months after she was placed on the “at risk” list. She was deteriorating at the shelter; they placed an e-tube in her neck to assist in eating as she became anorexic. Akira is very gentle and loving and she is great with other dogs.
Halo was found wandering alone on the streets until a stranger brought him into a vet office where a volunteer happened to be working. Five-year-old Halo is neutered and up to date with all his vaccinations. He has made so much progress and is looking for his forever home!
Meet Nino! This fluffy 5-year-old boy was surrendered to the kill shelter after his owner was moving. He was so scared at first but now loves all the treats and attention! Nino would do great in a home with older children who can understand when he just wants to take a nap and when it is play time. He is also great with other cats.

Available for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter
Luke is an approximately 3-to-4-year-old Fox Hound Mix who was initially adopted as a Pandemic Puppy. Sadly, his old owner was not properly prepared to give him a happy and healthy life, as he spent most of his time locked away and isolated without any socialization. Luke is now living at the animal shelter and is ready for a new life in a loving family. He is a shy boy who can be very sweet when he starts to open up to you. Due to his lack of socialization, he may have some hesitancy when dealing with other animals. Luke will require a special home that will treat him with kindness and patience and will help him gain the confidence he needs to live a full life.
**Senior Alert** The wonderful Annie is a 14-year-old Dilute Calico Domestic Shorthair Mix who is believed to have been left behind after her mom went to a nursing home. She is extremely outgoing, loves to talk, and enjoys getting attention. Annie is missing most of her teeth due to her age, but she is otherwise a very happy and healthy cat. Annie would do well as a part of just about any family!
If you are interested in adopting Luke or Annie, please call 631-360-7575 for more information.
Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America
When 3-year-old Meru (Adoption #D48071) found herself in need of help, she was unsure of her new surroundings. An apparent mistrust of humans means she never received tender care from a loving hand prior to her arrival. Time in Animal League America’s quietest space, surrounded by devoted humans, soon unearthed the whimsy that had been trapped inside this young beauty. Now you’ll find Meru craving attention and playtime from her favorite human pals. Meru isn’t crazy about cat friends, so she’s looking for a home where she can feel free to be uniquely herself in the safety of experienced hands. She’ll thrive in an engaging, predictable family (with children over age 16) who can make her feel safe and loved. Have we offered a few too many treats to win her heart? Probably… but how can we resist those imploring green eyes?! You won’t be able to resist her either.
Five-year-old Lucy (Adoption #BF3695) has the makings of a special soulmate. This local discovery can’t tell us all she’s experienced which led her to us for help, but her gratitude is quite clear. A quiet, patient home is exactly what Lucy craves, and we’re looking for a family who will offer her a lifetime of security to make up for the tough start she’s put behind her. Due to her sensitivity, Lucy’s family should have patience and experience in nurturing her tentative nature. A predictable home with no children would put her on the right track towards acclimating to life as a beloved pet.
Momma Lefkada (Adoption #H211337) is worn out after providing excellent care for her kittens. Now that she’s safely off the streets and that work is behind her, she’s regaining her confidence in the human hands at Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. This deserving 2-year-old tabby will settle into her first real home with the guidance of adopters experienced with felines. Families with children over age 12 will help her feel safe. If your heart is open to offering a peaceful sanctuary, Lefkada is ready to put her past strife behind her and join you for a tranquil furever after.
**Double Adoption** Chanel (Adoption #H211594) and Dior (Adoption #H211595) are what’s trending in fashion for kittens this season. While confident Dior is considering his best catwalk moves, his shy sister Chanel needs a little more time and patience before launching herself onto the scene. An experienced feline household (with children over age 12 who contribute to the predictability of their new setting) will lead to a glamourous future for the whole family! If you’d like to help 5-month-olds Chanel and Dior become runway ready, strut on over to Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center and ask to meet these up and coming supermodels today!
Animal League America was alerted to cats dumped in a local lumber yard in need of help and that’s where they discovered Linus (Adoption #BF4432). Despite some rough times, this resilient 2-year-old is looking towards the future. This soulful mini house panther has an ingratiating way of slipping into your heart. His gratitude is intense, and his heart is open to embracing a peaceful lifetime ahead with a family (children over age 6) that will warmly invite him into their home. We’re rooting for Linus to find that someone special who will offer him the future filled love he truly deserves.
**Double Adoption** Attention Pokémon fans: Lt. Surge (Adoption #E3907) and Crasher Wake (Adoption #E3908) want you to GO straight to Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center and snatch them up before you miss out on this dynamic duo! These adorably bonded 5-month-old brothers are no slouches when it comes to adventure. They traveled all the way from Florida when Animal League helped out shelter partners affected by Hurricane Ian. You’ll find these two easily entertaining each other while awaiting a family to discover them and take them home. Want to be the hero that completes their story?
After spending some time in a foster home with other cats, 7-month-old Pippa (Adoption #H211696) joined the Animal League America family in hopes of finding a permanent home. She’s gingerly taking in her new surroundings and has a gentle, ingratiating energy that wins hearts easily. Her time outdoors may have left her FIV+, but the rest of her life will be safe and secure indoors where she’ll only worry about when her next ear rubbing session will begin. Pippa is a wonderful choice for first time cat families.
**Double Adoption** Caesar (Adoption #H209985) and Julius (Adoption #H209986) recently lost the home they’d shared but are grateful for a second chance at finding their furever family. They’d love to discover someone soon, so don’t be surprised if you see them waiting at the door hoping to charm you. These bonded, 3-year-old brothers are so kind, they take turns plopping in visitors’ laps! If you can make room for both of them, you’ll find two very happy boys prepared to conquer your heart!
Ask about meeting any of these fabulous felines by emailing DoritS@animalleague.org or visit Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center (open daily, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.)
