3 New Restaurants on Long Island
GOOD GROUND TAVERN
This hotel restaurant at Canoe Place Inn & Cottages opened in November 2022. Executive Chef Ülfet Ralph, an Istanbul native, has roots in Mediterranean cuisine and a worldly background in the culinary scene. At her new post in Hampton Bays, she puts a Mediterranean twist on classic dishes with a local flair.
Good Ground plans to have seasonal menus with plates that use local ingredients from East End farms. Restaurantgoers can snack on grilled shrimp skewers ($23), chow down on lobster roll crostini ($38) for dinner, or try one of the bar’s signature cocktails. There are also meat options, salads, pizza and pasta, and more.

VICO
Pasta lovers can now get pasta made fresh in-house daily at Vico in Farmingdale. The owner comes from a small town in southern Italy called Vico Equense and wanted to bring the authentic Italian culinary experience of the region to Farmingdale.
Vico’s menu has options for lunch and dinner, as well as family packages. Patrons will find some their favorite Italian dishes here, including gnocchi ($16), spaghetti di Vico ($14), and ravioli di piselli e prosciutto ($18). Some other options are a selection of individual and family-style pizzas, bistecca ($28), pollo al forno ($22), and more.

BRAUN’S KITCHEN
This new North Fork spot offers fresh local and international seafood in Cutchogue. Opened last year at the Braun Seafood Co. fish market, the restaurant takes advantage of the East End’s fresh produce, and serves local beer and wine.
Braun’s Kitchen’s menu includes starters, sandwiches, and an array of tacos. Some of the restaurant’s main entrees are pan-seared scallops ($26), sesame-crusted tuna ($26), linguine with lemon butter shrimp ($22), and lobster mac & cheese ($24).
