February is American Heart Month, a reminder for people to focus on their cardiovascular health and take preventative measures to avoid the No. 1 cause of death in America: heart disease.
To help, a panel of esteemed experts will lead a webinar titled Heart Health & Empowering Your Best Life that will focus on the most common heart disease risk factors, strategies for preventing heart disease, and the role of diet, fitness and sleep in preventing heart disease.
The webinar will feature expert advice from Cona Elder Law Senior Partner Melissa Negrin-Wiener in a discussion with Dr. Pilar Stevens-Haynes of Mount Sinai South Nassau and Dr. Stanley Katz of Peconic Bay Medical Center. The webinar is sponsored by Schneps Media, the parent company of the Long Island Press.
Negrin-Wiener will discuss the importance of legal health, having advance directives in place, and securing peace of mind for family members if an illness surfaces or when a crisis occurs. She will review the importance of power of attorney, health care proxy, living will, and last will and testament.
The Heart Health & Empowering Your Best Life webinar is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 15.
