Frozen 3 Announced: Syosset’s Idina Menzel to Reprise Role of Elsa
Disney CEO Bob Iger announced Wednesday that Frozen 3 is in the works. The sequel to the wildly successful Frozen and Frozen 2 will star Syosset’s Idina Menzel reprising her role of Elsa in the animated film.
Iger did not reveal a release date or any further details about the third Frozen film. Menzel voices Elsa alongside Kristen Bell who voices Elsa’s younger sister Anna. Iger also announced that Toy Story 5 is in the works at Disney as well.
Menzel has called the success of Frozen “a defining moment for me” in a documentary about her life that debuted on Disney+ in December 2022. Frozen was released in 2013 and Frozen 2 hit theaters in 2019.
“[Frozen] is about harnessing this power we all have in ourselves,” Menzel said.
Menzel is a famous singer and Broadway star who grew up on Long Island. She has also been in Disney’s Enchanted and Disenchanted films.
