2 Cats & 2 Dogs Available for Adoption on Long Island

Available for adoption at the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter

Lady
Lady

**Special Request** Lady arrived in late December 2022 as a stray with no information, but after some detective work, the shelter learned that when her original owner passed away, she went to a family member’s home, but she did not get along with the other dogs in the home.  They do know that she lived with cats previously and is around 10 years old.

Lady has deteriorated rapidly in the shelter environment.  It is a constant struggle to keep weight on her as the stress gets to her.  Lady is timid in meeting new people and it takes some time to warm up.  Once she does though, she gets very attached.

Lady loves toys and treats and she is just crazy about a game of fetch.  Lady will need time to acclimate to a new home environment and to be with someone who takes it slow to learn about her while she learns about them.

Lady is desperate for a companion and it is urgent that she finds a way out of the shelter. She’s on the smaller side, only 40-45 lbs. She is looking for a home with no dogs, cats are ok, and older children because she’s a little nervous.

For more information about saving Lady, please call the shelter at 631-643-9270.

Princeton and Johnny Knoxville

**Double Adoption** Meet the Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pets of the Week, Princeton and Johnny Knoxville!  These two cuties were both found separately as strays. Princeton is a 1- to 2-year-old Brown Tabby, while Johnny Knoxville is a 1- to 2-year-old Orange Tabby. They became very close to each other in the animal shelter, and Princeton has helped Johnny come out of his shell. Once these guys trust you, you have a sweet and affectionate friend for life. They can be adopted together or individually, and both would do well in quiet homes with other cats.

Hours at the Smithtown Animal Shelter are currently Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Sundays and Wednesday evenings: by appointment only). To inquire about Princeton and Johnny or to meet your potential soulmate, please call the Smithtown Animal Shelter at 631-360-7575.
