North Shore Animal League to Hold Global Pet Adoptathon May 6-13
North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) will celebrate its 29th annual Global Pet Adoptathon at its Port Washington campus from May 6 to 13.
In partnership with Rachael Ray Nutrish, the monthlong event focuses on finding loving homes for animals locally, nationally, and internationally. More than 2,000 animal shelters and rescue groups will also participate in the Global Pet Adoptathon throughout the month of May to help save the lives of homeless animals.
The 2023 Global Pet Adoptathon will bring the widest selection and largest number of animals to NSALA’s adoption center for potential adopters to choose from. There will be hundreds of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens of a variety of breeds, ages, and sizes.
On opening weekend, beginning Saturday, May 6, NSALA will host fun activities to kick off the event, including a special appearance from New York Mets mascot Mr. Met that morning. Hours will be extended May 6 and 7.
Activities will also include interactive photo booths, outdoor games such as cornhole and Jenga, arts and crafts, and food and beverages. Plus, there will be a dog park meet and greet for families introducing a new pet to their home.
NSALA’S corporate partners will also be on site at tables to provide information.
