Gurwin Healthcare System Holds Ribbon Cutting for New Immersion Room in Rehab Facility
Alzheimer’s Foundation of America awarded Gurwin Healthcare System a grant to implement the immersion room at the Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Ira Sumkin is the inventor of the idea for the room, and Pat Classen is the developer. Kat Biggs runs therapeutic recreation on Gurwin’s memory care unit, so she will be implementing the use of the room with the residents.
Officials celebrated the opening of the immersion room at a recent ribbon cutting event.
