The following are tryout schedules for both the Roslyn High School varsity and junior varsity football squads, the soccer squads and the cheerleading teams. Future issues will list tryout schedules for other Fall sports.

Tryouts A
The JV and Varsity football season officially begins on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
• Practices are mandatory starting Monday, Aug. 21, 7:30 to 9:30am.
• All players need a minimum of 10 practices before they are eligible to participate in a scrimmage or game.
• Only practices starting on Saturday, Aug. 19, will count toward the minimum number of practices.
• All student-athletes interested in playing football, grades 9 through 12 (JV and varsity), should report to practice on the football turf in the back of the high school.
• Athletes need to wear shorts, t-shirts, and cleats.
• Bring your own water.
• The water bottle must be labeled with the athlete’s name.
• From Aug. 21 to Aug. 28, there will be two required practices per day.

In order to be eligible to begin practice on Saturday, Aug. 19, all student-athletes must comply with the mandatory list:
1. Completed registration through Family ID (Arbiter Sports). Registration opens 30 days prior to the start of the season and closes one week prior to the first day of practice.
2. Have a current physical on file with the school nurse (must be on a NYS Health Exam Form); the physical form can be uploaded directly to your FamilyID account; if you choose to mail your health form over the summer, please be sure to put “Attention: Health Office or School Nurse” on your envelope
3. A valid ImPACT concussion test
4. A completed self-medicate form, if applicable. If you have any health related questions, e-mail Ms. Schroeder at eschroeder@roslynschools.org prior to first day of practice.

The Varsity Boys Soccer season will start Monday, Aug. 28.
• All student athletes must register for athletics using FamilyID (Arbiter Sports).
• Registration for the fall sports will begin 30 days prior to the first day of the season and will close one week prior to the first day of tryouts.
• You can upload your child’s physical exam form directly to your FamilyID account or send it to the school nurse, Beth Schroeder.
• Physical Exam must be on a New York State Health form and cannot be older than one calendar year.
• Tryout Schedule: Monday, Aug. 28. Session 1: 8 to 10 a.m. (turf field)
Session 2: 2 to 3:30 p.m. (turf field).Tuesday, Aug. 29. Session 1: 8 to 10 a.m. (turf field).
Wednesday, Aug. 30: 3 to 5 p.m. (turf
field).
Thursday, Aug. 31: 3 to 5 p.m. (turf field).
Friday, Sept. 1: 7 to 8:30 a.m. (turf field).
Saturday, Sept. 2: 7 to 8:30 a.m. (turf field)
• No practice on Sept. 3 and 4.
• Please make sure that your child is properly dressed and bring plenty of water.
• Cleats or turfs and running sneakers are required for every practice.
• All players 9th – 12th grade will be trying out together for the first three days, at the end of the third JV & Varsity teams will be made.
• The head coach will be using google classroom to communicate with all players in the team.

The Roslyn High School Sideline Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleader student information session and tryouts will take place on Monday, Aug. 28 and Tuesday, Aug. 29 from 9-11 a.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 30, 3-4 p.m.
• Regular practices will run Mondays, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Tuesdays, 3-4 p.m., Wednesdays, 4-5 p.m., Thursdays, 3:30-4:30 p.m. and Fridays, 3-4 p.m.
• During practices, attendees will learn and create routines.
• No practice Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and 4 due to Labor Day.
• Join the google classroom for all important updates and scheduling changes.
All candidates must have the following:
1.Completed registration through Family ID (Arbiter Sports), which is available under the HS athletic department website.
2. A current physical on file in the nurse’s office. This physical exam should be completed on a NYS Health Form. You can upload the form directly to your Family ID account.
3. Complete the self-medication form, if applicable.
4. Valid ImPACT test. If you are unsure if your ImPACT test is valid, you should register through FamilyID and the date will be added to your account.
5. All athletes must register through Family ID at least one week prior to the first day of practice (Aug. 28).
If you have not registered through FamilyID, you will be unable to participate.
Practice Attire:
Shorts (respectable length) or sweatpants/ no jeans or jean shorts allowed.
Tank top or t-shirt (full length), no bathing suits.
Sneakers.
Suggestions: water, sunscreen, eat a healthy breakfast/lunch.
