Nassau County police have identified the body that was found near a jetty in Long Beach on Tuesday as Sherica Douglas-Cambell, 37.
According to a press release by Nassau police, Douglas-Cambell was reported missing late on Monday.
She had been last seen in New Hyde Park.
Early on Tuesday, Douglas-Cambell was found floating near a jetty in Long Beach, off of Lincoln Boulevard.
She was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. Authorities said it was due to drowning.
