*Senior Alert* Buddy is a delightful twelve year-old Beagle Mix who has sadly been adopted and returned twice in his life. Now it’s time for Buddy to find the perfect furrever home that will give him the adoration and love that he has been missing all this time. He is gentle, outgoing, loves all people and is pretty low key. Buddy will bark and follow you around when he wants some attention and he enjoys snuggling up with a toy. He will need a home that can help manage his chronic ear issues and can keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t wander off. Buddy is great with dogs, cats, and children, and would be a wonderful addition to any family.
If you can make Buddy your best bud, please fill out an application https://www.townofsmithtownanimalshelter.com/applications or call the shelter at 631-360-7575 for more information.

Ivory stands as a magnificent example of beauty, loyalty, and affection. Recently saved from the euthanasia list, this lady would do best in a home with another playful dog who can guide her along the way. While she adores children, she isn’t fully aware of her own size, so a household with kids aged 13 and older would be best. Ivory is crate trained as she experiences anxiety when new people enter her space, requiring a patient owner who can facilitate gradual introductions. She is a fast learner who will make a great family dog!
Also pulled from the euthanasia list, Apollo is seeking a foster home that can provide transportation to veterinary appointments for his potential neurological condition. Apollo is presently accustomed to using wee-wee pads and can either be the only dog in the household or be placed with an experienced foster family that can carefully manage gradual introductions with other pets. At approximately 1.5 to 2 years old, Apollo is overflowing with affection, and he thoroughly enjoys his playtime adventures in the foster backyard.
Rue is a young pup, recently rescued from Louisiana. He is super sweet and loving and loves to run around and play. He is good with other dogs and would do best in a home where he can run around and play- and must have a fenced in backyard.
Six-year-old MooMoo was rescued last year after her owner passed away. She was heartbroken, hissing and scratching and so just so sad. Fortunately, Lend-a-Paw was able to socialize her with other cats and she has made so much progress. She is no longer swatting at volunteers and allows them to get relatively close to her without running away. MooMoo is looking for a foster who can work with and socialize her.
Baby Brie has so much spunk and personality! Recently trapped and rescued, Brie and her siblings are currently FeLV positive but that won’t stop her. FeLV positive cats can live very long, healthy lives. Rescuers even say they may be sweeter than the average kitty. So why not open your heart and home to Brie today?!
Five-year-old Pablo is one hunk of a man! He is very loving and affectionate as well as independent. He loves getting his treats and daily pets as well as socializing with the other cats.
