Kevin Leatherman was installed as the 2024 President of Long Island Board of REALTORS (LIBOR) during the Association’s Installation and Awards Event on Jan. 4 at Garden City Hotel.
The event also included the installation of LIBOR’s Executive Committee and board of directors.
Leatherman will serve as LIBOR’s 83rd president, a not-for-profit REALTORS trade association serving 30,000 real estate professionals throughout Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties.
He is joined on LIBOR’s Executive Committee by President-Elect, Mark Donnelly, Secretary/Treasurer, Rao Ali Shaan Khan, and past President Gina Marie Bettenhauser.
Leatherman has been licensed for over 28 years and serves as broker-owner of Leatherman Homes in Rockville Centre. Leatherman’s expertise spans diverse communities throughout Long Island and New York City.
Leatherman serves on nine boards, seven of which are REALTOR related, and holds the presidency at 10 Lenox Road Owners Inc.
His leadership roles for LIBOR encompass serving as LIBOR secretary and treasurer from 2021 to 2022, as well as president-elect in 2023.
Leatherman’s involvement began in 1998 and extended to numerous LIBOR and MLSLI committees, along with serving on the boards of both associations throughout the past 25 years. He most recently chaired LIBOR’s Budget and Finance committee in 2022.
Leatherman is activly involved at the state and national levels, serving on various committees and presently on both, National Association of REALTORS (NAR) and New York State Association of REALTORS (NYSAR) board of directors.
Leatherman is an Accreditied Buyer Representative (ABR) and has hosted workshops for LIBOR and other real estate companies to enhance agents’ understanding of buyer brokerage.
In 2020, Leatherman was named LIBOR REALTOR Broker of the Year for his contributions to the real estate industry and as a leader in his local community.
