Meyer looks to continue diligent leadership of PWWD operations
The Port Washington Water District (PWWD) is proud to announce that Commissioner Peter Meyer has been re-elected to the PWWD Board of Commissioners following the District’s election on December 12. Commissioner Meyer has served on the Board since 2000 and began his ninth term earlier this month.
“I am thankful to my neighbors for once again electing me to serve as PWWD Commissioner,” said Commissioner Meyer. “Serving on the District Board has been one of the great privileges of my life and I am excited to begin another term. The work that we have done over my tenure at the District has been tremendous, and I am looking forward to expanding upon the success we have had over the years.”’
Although he has accomplished much during his long tenure on the Board, one of Commissioner Meyer’s biggest impacts on the PWWD has come in recent years. He has provided significant oversight as the District installed advanced treatment systems to address the threat posed by emerging contaminants in the Port Washington peninsula’s water. Alongside fellow Commissioners David Brackett and Mindy Germain, Commissioner Meyer has worked diligently to ensure that the community’s water remains as safe as possible.
Commissioner Meyer has called Port Washington his home for roughly 50 years. He is the owner of Meyer Mechanical Services, a heating and air conditioning company that has thrived in the community for decades. With a strong passion for protecting Port Washington’s precious water source while also keeping costs down for residents, he is looking forward to using his expertise to continue leading the PWWD in providing high-quality water to its community.
