On Friday, March 8, 2024, Westbury Arts hosted its 2024 Membership Appreciation Party in continued celebration of the organization’s 10th anniversary. The evening was an opportunity to recognize how important Westbury Arts’ members are to the organization’s success. Members and their guests gathered at the Westbury Arts gallery at 255 Schenck Avenue in Westbury for an evening of live music, refreshments, and camaraderie.
In the spirit of continuing to grow the organization, the event also served as part of Westbury Arts’ annual membership drive. Current members were encouraged to invite guests to join them for the evening, giving prospective new members an opportunity to mingle with current members and experience a warm welcome.
The evening featured the intersection of music and visual artwork that Westbury Arts often showcases, as the Tom Cabrera Trio performed against the backdrop of the Long Island Black Artist Association’s “Fifty-Five Years of Black Creativity” exhibition, which is currently on display in the Westbury Arts gallery (through March 22, 2024). Westbury Arts also honored member Dorothy Ferguson as its Volunteer of the Year, in recognition of her many hours of service at various Westbury Arts events and open gallery hours.
