Sunday, April 21st kicks off National Volunteer Week, celebrating the invaluable contributions volunteers play in supporting communities and organizations. Volunteering provides much-needed care and attention to animals in need, improving their quality of life and increasing their chances of adoption. Shelters and rescues often rely on volunteers for daily operations, such as feeding, cleaning, and socializing with the animals.
Adoption is always best, but why not consider saving lives through volunteering. Contact your local animal rescue or shelter today!

Six-year-old Magpie was discovered walking in endless circles in the trailer park where she had been abandoned. But now thanks to Animal League’s North Country Initiative Team in Glen Falls, this lucky girl’s spiraling came to an end upon her arrival at their Pet Health Centers. After a thorough examination, Bilateral Ventral bulla osteotomy was necessary to relieve the discomfort from her ruptured eardrums. Their Help Me Heal program has provided the funding to complete the surgery, so her future family can reap the benefits of at cost medical care for any potential issues. Magpie is now enjoying an unparalleled joy for life, relishing in all the wonders that she missed while fending for herself. Catnip, toys, and cuddles are new and pleasant experiences for her!
One-year-old sisters Tilly and Tammy were delivered by a local rescuer, they’re now leading their room in the feather Olympics. An experienced family with older children would help build their confidence and provide them the consistency this duo needs. Treats and playtime are excellent incentives to help them adjust to new settings. Before you know it, you’ll have these adoring sisters thanking you for completing their rescue story.
The loss of his beloved owner has left 12-year-old friend Shen lost and seeking solace in the hands of his new caretakers at Bianca’s Furry Friends. In no time, he has won over the hearts of every new person he meets. He would love to be the center of attention as the only pet in your home but his engaging greeting, enthusiasm for treats, and gratitude for ear rubs will keep any family plenty busy with this little rascal. Vets have provided Shen with a great plan for his hyperthyroidism, a covered medical expense at cost through Pet Health Centers.
