The recreational marijuana market has been off to an infamously slow start since New York State legalized cannabis for adults in 2021, but there are a few options on Long Island.

While the state has licensed three dozen dispensaries to open in Nassau and Suffolk counties, most brick-and-mortar establishments are still seeking a location to set up shop. But several others located elsewhere have been authorized to deliver to customers on the Island.

Here is a guide to LI’s legal cannabis dispensaries.

STRAIN STARS
The first cannabis dispensary to open on Long Island debuted in July of 2023. It boasts a wide range of options, from pre-rolls to concentrates, tailored to their individual preferences and needs. 1815 Broadhollow Rd., Farmingdale, 631-390-9444, strainstarsny.com

HAPPY DAYS
The second cannabis dispensary on Long Island opened in December 2023 and is similarly centrally located with a hearty list of menu options. 105 Route 109, Farmingdale, 516-888-1505, happydaysli.com

PLANET NUGG
The third state-licensed cannabis dispensary to open on Long Island boasts an otherworldly experience at its 5.000-square-foot pot shop since it opened in September 2024. Like others in the blunt biz, Planet Nugg will sell prerolls, edibles, concentrates, vapes, and flower. It also bills itself as the dispensary that gives back. 2043 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, planetnugg.com

BROWN BUDDA NEW YORK
The fourth state-licensed cannabis dispensary to open on LI was the first of its kind in the Town of Southampton. Brown Budda is different from most dispensaries on the Island in that there is no in-person store currently. This dispensary is strictly delivery and curbside pick-up only, allowing for a unique and fast customer experience. 1533 County Road 39, Southampton, brownbuddanewyork.com

STRAIN STARS RIVERHEAD
The fifth pot shop to open on LI was the first of its kind in the Town of Riverhead when it debuted in November 2024. It’s also billed as New York’s largest recreational dispensary at 14,000-square feet. And it’s the second location of the LI’s first weed store. 1872 Old Country Rd., Riverhead,strainstarsny.com

BELEAF
The sixth pot shop to open on LI — and the second in the Town of Riverhead — debuted in December 2024. The proprietors previously opened a location in Brooklyn and have another planned for Medford. 4462 Middle Country Rd., Calverton, beleafny.com

LONG ISLAND CANNABIS CLUB
The seventh weed dispensary on LI to open offers a wide selection of products including flower, concentrates, vapes, edibles and more with many being grown in New York. The products are available for both in store purchases and delivery seven days a week. 94 E Industry Ct., Deer Park or cannabisclubli.com

LITTLE BEACH HARVEST
The first cannabis dispensary on the East End opened in 2023 on the Shinnecock Nation territory, which means it is exempt from the state licensing regulations, but it also offers a wide array of flower, edibles and other menu items. The tribal territory also has about 10 other pot shops. 56 Montauk Hwy., Southampton, 631-251-3030, littlebeachharvest.com

HOLY BUDS
The Long Island-based cannabis company has opened in October 2024 a delivery-only dispensary in Farmingdale, which they say is the first of its kind. Customers will be able to visit the Holy Buds website and choose from an extensive menu of flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates and vapes. If you can think it, there’s probably a weed version of it.

LEGACY DISPENSARY
This cannabis dispensary is located in Albany but has been approved to deliver cannabis products to customers’ homes on Long Island for those who place an order. legacy-dispensary.com
