The New York Burger Bar has officially come to the end of an era.
After opening the family owned restaurant in Massapequa in 2015 the Galatoulas family decided it was time for a change. New York Burger Bar closed on Dec. 23 for renovations to reopen as another Burgerology, marking its eighth location.
“For us there’s a little bit of history here,” said John Galatoulas, Owner and Vice President of Burgerology. “Burger Bar had an amazing run but as Burgerology started to blow up and expand we collectively thought as a family, it’s a no brainer to convert the original restaurant to what we have going on right now.”
Don’t worry, the bones of Burger Bar remain including the original tin ceilings but the Galatoulas wanted to add more of the Burgerology theme feel. During renovations, booths and newer TVs were added to the dining room. The bar was elevated with a different bar top and outlets under the table. Also, a fenced off patio was added to the back of the property to create a cool hang out spot.
Burgerology Massapequa opened on April 22nd.
