Esteemed landscape architects Ed Hollander and Brian Sawyer were honored as part of the “English Folly: An Evening in the Garden” theme
The 2024 Gardeners’ Fair, held on Saturday, May 18th at beautiful Old Westbury Gardens, was a resounding success. It was a full house for this highly anticipated event, which attracted a distinguished group of supporters whose generosity and commitment to the ongoing preservation of Old Westbury Gardens was truly inspiring.
The evening included a Westbury House tour and garden stroll, a cocktail hour with live music, a sit-down dinner and dancing, and a live and silent auction featuring a wide spectrum of generously donated items and exciting experiences.
A highlight of the evening was the recognition of our venerated Honorees, Ed Hollander and Brian Sawyer, whose contributions to the landscape architecture community have been truly remarkable.
Ed Hollander, a renowned landscape architect, has transformed countless gardens and landscapes with his innovative designs and sustainable practices. His work not only beautifies spaces but also promotes ecological health, making him a revered figure in the field of landscape architecture.
Brian Sawyer, an acclaimed architecture, landscape and interior designer, is celebrated for his exquisite garden compositions that blend artistic vision with horticultural expertise. His designs have graced some of the most prestigious properties and public spaces, earning him widespread acclaim and admiration.
The event committee, led by dedicated co-chairs Jess Green and Lynn Ely Dixon, worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success.
