Adoption Meowi

*Senior Alert* Meet the Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week, Meowy! This charismatic tuxedo colored gal is estimated to be about fourteen years young. Meowy was brought to the animal shelter as a stray with a massive infection on her hind end that required swift medical attention which was provided by the shelter. Despite experiencing discomfort, Meowy was very brave and cooperative through all her treatments and is now doing extraordinarily well. Meowy is a gentle lady that will sit on your lap for hours on end. Her incredibly outgoing nature and longing for love is evident from her tendency to follow around her caretakers with hopes of greeting human and furry friends around the shelter. This endearing beauty loves all.  After all she has been through, this adoring soul deserves a forever home she can finally call her own.

Meowy would make a wonderful addition to any home, including those with children, other cats and dogs. As a result of her infection, she is experiencing some difficulty with her bowels which may subside over time. Nothing would make Meowy happier than to find that special family where she can make up for lost time, doting on one lucky family who will reciprocate with an endless supply of snuggles and TLC.

If you are interested in meeting Meowy, please fill out an application to schedule time to properly interact with your prospective soul mate in a domestic setting. For more information regarding rescue animals available for adoption visit:. TownofSmithtownAnimalShelter.com

Adoption Ya Mar

Who feels like dancing? One-year-old Ya Mar does, now that she’s halfway to the finish line after coasting up north from her Florida shelter. Maybe the past wasn’t always breezy for this cute calico, but the future is bright because that’s where her purrmanent dance partners are waiting. Want to step up and show her the time of her life? A home as the only pet will have Ya Mar purring her gratitude for the opportunity!

Adoption Amari

Two-year-old Amari is a local rescue who came to Animal League America for a lifestyle reset. Always dressed to impress in her stunning tuxedo, Amari is the purrfect fit for experienced adopters with older children. She loves being the center of playtime and is always insistent about being first in line for treat parties. As the only pet in her home, she’s going to happily experience a lot of firsts with you, starting with her first real home.

Adoption Chanel

*Double Adoption* Bonded pair, Chanel and Dior are what’s trending in fashion for cats this season. While these two-year-olds may need a little time and patience before enjoying the catwalk, the payoff is getting to pet their velvety soft fur! While Dior is already flouncing his way into the hearts of every visitor, Chanel takes a more dignified approach in meeting new people. An experienced household with older children will lead to a fashionable future. Invite them to your treat and play party and let the fun begin, neither of them can resist feather toys.

Adoption Pearl

*Double Adoption and Senior Alert* Pearl and Piper’s owner made sure they’d be provided for long after they were unable to care for them in Animal League America’s Safe Haven Program. They’ve given this fabulous mother/daughter duo all the loving care they once had in their peaceful home. 14-year-old Pearl can be sensitive to activity, so a home with older children and other pets besides her beloved mother Piper would be best for her. Thanks to devoted donors, each has had radiation therapy to treat their hyperthyroidism. They are also sharing a diet to treat Pearl’s early chronic renal disease which can be purchased at cost through the rescue’s Pet Health Centers.

Adoption Shakespaw

To cat or not to cat? That is the question! William Shakespaw has a tale to share with the lucky family who becomes his future audience. This highly entertaining nine-month-old kitty was locally rescued and, despite some heart issues, has become the Bard of Bianca’s Furry Friends. Scooting into the arms of his visitors, never turning down a good long nuzzle. William will need an echocardiogram in the spring and possibly a balloon valvuloplasty to improve his heart health. He’s looking for a foster home that will hopefully become his purrmanent one.

Adoption Evee

*Senior Alert* After nine-year-old Evee had to move out of her lifelong home, Animal League America took her in to give this lovely girl a second chance at finding a family that would fit her purrfectly. The lifestyle change to shelter living was a hard one, but patient, loving cat whisperers showed they’re there to give her the peace she sorely misses. She’d like the focus to be all on her as the only pet in the home with older children.

Adoption Jack

Five-year-old Jack came back to Animal League America after a spiral of tragic events, one of them being the loss of his beloved lifelong companion, Jill. Nestled in his cozy bed, he loves gentle ear rubs and treats, he’s looking for a cat-experienced family with older children to help reacquaint himself with life in a home and all the happiness that came from that peace.

Adoption Lucy

*Senior Alert and Special Request* Lucy is a spunky nine-year-old girl. She’ll greet you with chirps of questions about your day when you come home. Once she is comfortable with you, be ready for lots of heads buts and snuggles. Lucy has hyperthyroidism and is on two pills a day that she easily takes with pill pockets. She has a low grade heart murmur but that it doesn’t affect her at all! There is a fun side to her as she has some dog traits and likes to play fetch. You will need some fuzzy balls to keep her happy and busy. This girl has a big personality and will make a great pet for the right person. Lucy would prefer to be the queen of the castle so no other cats. Lucy is available for foster with intent to adopt.

Adoption Willow

*Special Request* Willow is a stunning grey and white female cat, eagerly looking for her forever home! She has feline asthma but is easily treated with an inhaler twice a day. She has a sweet and very friendly personality, and she makes a lot of eye contact with you with her beautiful piercing gold eyes. With her athletic and curious nature, Willow is always curious, exploring her surroundings with a sense of wonder and excitement. She loves to play and chase toys and will eagerly engage with anyone willing to spend some time with her. Despite her energetic side, Willow has a calm and gentle demeanor that makes her a pleasure to be around. She loves to curl up in a cozy spot and take a nap, or simply relax and enjoy some petting and lap time with her human companions. Willow is available for adoption or foster with intent to adopt.
