Syosset Farmer’s Market
9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (68 Berry Hill Road, Syosset) Syosset’s new farmer’s market is open every Saturday from May through October. Local company’s attend, and residents can buy local products and learn about their community’s food system. There is a wide variety of vendors, such as bakeries, bread shops, florists, candle companies, coffee vendors and more. For more information, visit their Instagram page @syossetfarmersmarket.
Echoes of Love: SHAYAR Live
7:00 p.m. (Long Island University’s Tilles Center) Dr.Satinder Sartaaj is a singer, actor, poet, composer and lyricist that will perform at the Tilles Center. He is a recognized artist and will delve deeper into the values and emotions of his work at this live event. For more information, visit www.tillescenter.org.

Teen Gender-Sexualtiy Alliance
7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (Virtual Event by the Syosset Public Library) A teen GSA (Gender & Sexuality Alliance) will be held over Zoom. Students are encouraged to join to meet like-minded people and engage in supportive discussion. The meeting is available to all teens from sixth- through twelfth- grade. There is no registration online, but participants are encouraged to email splteens@syossetlibrary.com for the Zoom link.

Chamber Networking Lunch
12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Sushi Vogue in Woodbury) Enjoy delicious food at Sushi Vogue while networking with fellow members of the community. Cost is $25 per attendee. For more information, visit www.syossetchamber.com.

Thursday, July 11
Power of Poseidon
1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. (The Whaling Museum and Educational Center in Cold Spring Harbor) Come explore Greek Maritime myths at the Whaling museum. In the past, sailors used to dress up as Poseidon during a special festival when they crossed the Equator. Now, the Whaling Museum offers a celebration of maritime history and mythology, and participants will decorate their own terracotta pots with mythical designs. No registration is required. Campfire Stories & S’mores
7:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. (Story Room at the Syosset Public Library) Gather around the makeshift campfire and listen to spooky stories while eating s’mores. This event is open to children in third- through fifth- grade, and all participants must have a caregiver in the library during the event. Each child that attends must register using their own library card. PLease do not register more than one child on a single card unless specified. For more information, visit www.syossetlibrary.org.
