The Glen Cove Senior Center’s monthly birthday bash on Friday, June 21, had a special guest was at the helm.

Glen Cove Veteran Affairs Office Director, former Glen Cove City Councilman and best friend Tony Jimenez pinch-hit for the Minority Leader and led a day filled with cake, celebration, roses and revelry for all of June’s “birthday babies” at the Center.
The tradition dates back nearly two decades and Delia DeRiggi-Whitton began serving on the Glen Cove City Council and has continued to the present day.
“While I tremendously regret that I wasn’t able to make it to this month’s celebration, I loved knowing that Tony would be there to wish everyone a very happy birthday,” DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I know he had a great time carrying on this tradition and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone soon.”
