Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino announced the completion of the recent upgrades and renovations to the Honorable Joseph Colby Golf Course in Woodbury.

“We’re delivering a great experience for all golfers at our course and these improvements will certainly enhance their playing experience,” said Supervisor Saladino. “Make your reservation, enjoy the beautiful course and spend the day in the Town of Oyster Bay.”

The improvements were part of a $5 million renovation project and include new tee boxes on all 18 holes along with a new irrigation system for the entire course.

The golf course is situated on 121-acres of Long Island’s Gold Coast. It is a challenging, championship golf course that has beautifully manicured lawns, waterfalls, narrow fairways, water holes, sand dunes, grass bunkers and putting green. The major renovations will improve the space for golf course staff and members, alike.

There is a turn-of-the-century mansion on the grounds, and the surrounding views of the Gold Coast offer members a beautiful and elegant view. The mansion has dining options for those not interested in golf and has both indoor and outdoor seating available.

Visitors are encouraged to use the Lucas Golf Center at the Oyster Bay Driving Range and Pro Shop, which offers golf services and instruction. Golfers can inquire about private lessons, group lessons and clinics at the practice range and on the course. For more information on instruction, driving range hours and the Pro Shop, please visit www.LucasGolfCenter.com or call (516) 364-3600.

Applications for membership to the Honorable Joseph Colby Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course are available and are processed on site from Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prospective members must provide proofs of residency, as non-resident memberships will require an additional fee. Membership will remain valid throughout the summer and until winter weather arrives.
