National Headquarters of The American Legion Auxiliary recently awarded Cristina Caputi of Manhasset High School in Manhasset, New York, The American Legion Auxiliary Spirit of Youth Scholarship. Cristina Caputi will receive this scholarship to go towards tuition when she attends Villanova University as a freshman this Fall of 2024.
Students, from each state, throughout the United States submitted entries for the scholarship and each state was awarded a winner. Cristina Caputi was selected from New York State to receive this scholarship, and the criteria included the analysis of her character/leadership, essay, and high academic achievement for the scholarship. Additionally, Cristina has served as Honorary Junior Vice-President of the American Legion Auxiliary for New York State and locally, at Manhasset Post 304, as Honorary Junior President of the American Legion Auxiliary, and has held past positions locally as Vice-President, Secretary and Historian.
Founded in 1919, the American Legion Auxiliary is a community of volunteers serving veterans, military, and their families.
