Movies By Moonlight: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

6:00 p.m. (Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park) The Town of Oyster Bay is hosting Movies By Moonlight at different parks throughout the summer. Seating and pre-movie activities begin at 6:00 p.m., which will include character meet-and-greets, inflatable toys and games. Teen Karaoke Night

7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Jericho Public Library) Come prepared to sing at the Jericho Public Library’s karaoke night. Bring a friend or come to meet new people with similar music tastes. Shark Cookies

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Syosset Public Library Meeting Room) Join Chef Rob to create shark-themed cookies to celebrate Shark Week. This event is for children in first through third-grade. Syosset Farmer’s Market

9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (68 Berry Hill Road, Syosset) Syosset’s new farmer’s market is open every Saturday from May through October. Local company’s attend, and residents can buy local products and learn about their community’s food system. Adult Walking Club

9:30 a.m.- 10:15 a.m. (Jericho Public Library) Join the Adult Walking Club in front of the Jericho Public Library for a 45-minute walk through the neighborhood. Meet your neighbors and enjoy conversation with friends while exercising and enjoying the weather. All levels and activity types are welcome.

Author Visit: Elyssa Friedland

2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Syosset Public Library) The Syosset Library welcomes Elyssa Friedland, who will discuss her 2024 novel, Jackpot Summer. The book follows four siblings whose lives turn chaotic when their family beach house gets sold and three of the siblings win the lottery. Harry Potter Scavenger Hunt & Craft

ALL DAY (Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Aquarium) From August 1-4, the aquarium is hosting a Harry Potter themed scavenger hunt to find native and magical creatures. Visitors will pick their own Hogwarts pet and make a cat, rat or toad craft. The event is free with the price of admission. For more information, visit www.cshfishhatchery.org.

Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them Workshop

1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. (The Whaling Museum & Education Center in Cold Spring Harbor) The Whaling Museum is celebrating Harry Potter’s birthday with a Fantastic Beasts-inspired workshop. Children will explore the legends surrounding the mythic creatures in Harry Potter and create their own dragon eggs with gilded shells. Admission is $10 a participant, $5 for members.
