The Morgan Park Music Festival resumes this summer for its 65th anniversary season. The concert series performs at Morgan Park every Sunday from July through August at 7:00 p.m. All performances are open to the public and free to attend.
The 2024 season features a wide variety of genres. Previous performances include The Music of Carole King, 100 Years of Broadway and The Music of George Harrison, among others.
In August, residents can look forward to Classics of the 60s & 70s, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, A Century of Soul and The Music of ABBA.
The concert series was started by Joseph Suozzi, the father of Sen. Tom Suozzi (D). Suozzi took over the organization of the music festival from his parents in recent years.
“The Morgan Park Summer Music Festival is a part of the cultural fabric of Glen Cove and the North Shore,” said Suozzi.

“Free concerts and musicals in your hometown without the time and expense of traveling into Manhattan,” he continued. “That’s our mission and for 65 years our volunteers and donors have made it a success!”
The concert is entirely paid for by contributors and sponsors. This model takes the financial load of the concert off the taxpayer. Additionally, the staff at the festival is composed of volunteers.
The concert is designed to bring professional quality talent to the local residents. Each week features a new musician and genre to ensure variety for attendees as well.
Food trucks and vendors occasionally attend the event, and patrons are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and picnics to enjoy the concert in comfort.
