Under sunny skies, the Hicksville Street Fair returned for its 21st year on Sunday.

The fair, which was held along N. Jerusalem Avenue from West John Street to Herzog Place,  was hosted by the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce, whose members called the day a big success.

“I want to thank the guy upstairs for the great weather and all our supporters. It’s been a great day,” board member James Madden said.

The street fair featured almost 50 vendors representing a variety of local businesses and creatives. Food vendors included Smokehaus, Extreme Empanadas, Frankie’s Famous Zeppole, and more.

Local groups, including the Hicksville Boys and Girls Club and Cub Scouts Pack 382 Hicksville, chatted with kids about getting involved in the community. Adult community groups, such as the Northwest Civic Association of Hicksville and the Hicksville Gardens Civic Association, offered pamphlets about their work and how to get involved.

The Kids’ Zone was also back this year, a popular addition featuring hands-on arts and crafts, face painting, and various games. A petting booth brought rabbits and snakes for kids to pet or hold.

Local officials stopped by throughout the day, including Nassau County Legislator Rose Marie Walker, state Sen. Steven D. Rhoads, and state Assembly Member Jake Blumencranz and U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi.
