Arrest
The Nassau County Police Department’s Fraud and Forgery Unit arrested a Hicksville woman on Tuesday, Sept. 3, allegedly stealing from her former employer,
Elizabeth Stern, 52, was charged with stealing from her former employer, Superior Air Condition & Heating Systems Inc., following a long investigation, police said.
Over an 18-month period, Stern allegedly paid off personal credit cards with checks that were stolen from Superior Air Condition & Heating Systems Inc., totaling approximately $301,958, detectives said.
During that same period, detectives said she also cashed checks totaling approximately $38,000.
Stern is charged with grand larceny in the second degree, five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, five counts of identity theft in the first degree, five counts of unlawful possession of personal identifying information in the third degree and falsifying business records in the first degree.
Bellmore
Arrest
The Nassau County Police Department’s Narcotics/Vice Squad reported the arrest of three females for an incident that occurred on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 2:50 p.m. in Bellmore.
According to detectives, an undercover investigation was conducted at SPA located at 2556 Merrick Rd. It was determined illegal massages and prostitution were being conducted at this location, detectives said.
Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives arrested Jholdana Rojas, 37, of New Jersey, Youchun Zhang, 49, of Bellmore, and Shaoyu Xiong, 36, of Flushing without incident.
Rojas and Zhang are both charged with the unauthorized practice of a profession and prostitution. Xiong is charged with prostitution. They were each released on appearance tickets returnable on Monday, Sept. 30, to First District Court.
Wantagh
Arrest
The Nassau County Police Department’s Narcotics/Vice Squad reported the arrest of two females for an incident that occurred on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 4:20 p.m. in Wantagh.
According to detectives, an undercover investigation was conducted at Thai Spa, located at 1436 Wantagh Ave. It was determined illegal massages and prostitution were being conducted at this location, detectives said, detectives said.
Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives placed Ling Li, 32, of Brooklyn and Lifen Luo, 45, of Woodbury, under arrest without incident.
Li is charged with the unauthorized practice of a profession and prostitution and Luo is charged with promoting prostitution in the fourth degree. They were both released on appearance tickets returnable on Monday, Sept. 30, to First District Court.
Westbury
Unusual Incident
The Nassau County Police Department’s Public Information Office reported the details of a bomb threat that occurred in Westbury on Friday, Sept. 6.
Third Precinct Officers responded to Family Court, located at 1200 Old Country Rd., for a possible bomb threat. Upon arrival, officers evacuated the building out of an abundance of caution. A sweep of the building was completed, with a negative result, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Levittown
Burglary
The Nassau County Police Department’s Eighth Squad said a police officer was injured on Friday, Sept. 6 in Levittown in responding to a report of a domestic disturbance.
Dashawn Thompkins, 46, was charged with burglary in the second degree, criminal contempt in the first degree, assault in the second degree and resisting arrest after he entered a 53-year-old woman’s residence and was involved in a verbal argument, police said.
Police said the woman had hid in an upstairs bedroom and called 911.
Police said they found Thompkins in a closet upon arrival. Thompkins refused to comply with officers’ demands to exit the closet and became violent and combative, police said.
Officers had to use a taser which successfully allowed them to place him into custody, police said.
The Nassau County Police Department reported that one officer sustained an injury to his hand and wrist during the arrest and was transported to a nearby hospital. Thompkins was also transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment, police said.
The police said the investigation revealed that Thompkins was in violation of a valid order of protection.
Lawrence
Arrest
Two men were charged on Sunday, Sept. 8 with robbing Kay Jewelers, located at 331 Rockaway Turnpike in Lawrence of $5,700 in jewelry.
Demari Harvey, 21, and Kymani Blake, 20 were charged with grand larceny in the third degree.
The Nassau County Police Department’s Fourth Squad said officers responding to a call, , to for a larceny were informed that a male had fled the store with a necklace that he was trying on.
Officers canvassed the nearby area and located Harvey.. He was placed under arrest in the vicinity of Branch Boulevard and Redwood Drive without incident, police said.
Investigation revealed that Blake was present in the store with Harvey. He was placed under arrest without incident inside the store, police said.
Plainview
Unusual Incident
The Nassau County Police Department’s Eighth Squad reported a public lewdness incident that occurred on Sunday, Sept. 8, in Plainview.
Detectives said a man walked up to a residence located on Grohmans Lane and exposed himself before urinating on the victim’s front door. The subject then activated the ring doorbell and fled the scene while yelling derogatory statements, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
The unknown male is described as white, approximately 18 to 20 years of age and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and a white hat, police said.

Great Neck Plaza
Vehicular Accident
The Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Squad reported the details of a fatal vehicular accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 3:15 p.m. in Great Neck Plaza.
According to detectives, a female pedestrian, 95, was struck by a 2004 Dodge Ram pick-up truck traveling westbound on Grace Avenue at the intersection of Park Place. The 37-year-old male operator of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said.
The female pedestrian suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local area hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a hospital physician, police said.
East Meadow
Grand Larceny Arrest
The Nassau County Police Department’s Fraud and Forgery Unit reported the arrest of a man for an elder scam/grand larceny that occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 10:30 a.m. in East Meadow.
According to detectives, an 82-year-old male received a message on his computer from an unknown male claiming to be an employee of Microsoft.
The unknown male advised the 92-year-old that his bank accounts had been compromised. He was then informed that he needed to withdraw all of his savings and await further instructions about where the funds should be delivered, police said. Before completing the transaction, he became suspicious and contacted the police.
Subsequent to the investigation, detectives coordinated efforts to locate and arrest Zongjin Teng, 26, who was placed into custody for the above incident on Sept. 11, at 3:25 p.m., police said.
Teng is charged with grand larceny in the third degree and attempted grand larceny in the third degree.
