Roslyn High School English teacher Scott Segal served on the Content Advisory Board for Bedford/St. Martin’s, Freeman, & Worth Publishers (BFW) American Literature and Rhetoric textbook.

“It was an honor and a privilege to have been invited to write for the Teacher’s Edition of the American Literature and Rhetoric textbook,” Segal said. “It feels like the culmination of my teaching career here at Roslyn High School, where I can now assist teachers around the country in teaching eleventh-grade English.”

Segal spent the last year reviewing the current content and making suggestions for the second edition. This past June, BFW invited him to extend his work by authoring two chapters of the Teacher’s Edition of the textbook.

He completed the work this past summer, authoring chapter five, “Redefining America: 2001 to the Present,” and chapter seven, “America in Conflict: 1830-1865.”

The textbook will be available in both digital and physical versions. BFW has also selected his work for chapter five to be used in demos at upcoming conventions and conferences nationwide.
