Ten Ring Archery of Levittown held its grand opening late last month. After seven months of construction, the largest indoor archery range in the country is ready to welcome novices and experts alike.
Owners Frank Kentoffio and Rick Migliore wanted to create a space unlike anything else on Long Island.
“There’s been a hole here for a long time,” Kentoffio said about the local market. “There are so many archery studios that are just bare metal walls and ring targets. I decided if I was going to do this, I was going to do it right.”
The owners share a hunting background, which inspired the design of the larger archery space Ten Ring offers: a 12,000-square-foot 3D range designed with a plethora of animal habitats.
Kentoffio’s favorite in this room is the Sasquatch, a target placed 47 yards from the shooting line. “Which is just unheard of indoors,” he said. The room includes different colored/numbered markers to offer visitors the chance to shoot a range of angles and distances.
Ten Ring also offers a more traditional archery experience at the Olympic range, a 20-yard shooting space with classic ring-shaped targets.
Aside from shooting, visitors can purchase items from Ten Ring’s impressive stock of bows, arrows and other hunting gear such as trail cameras and sights. Hunting season starts on Oct. 1 until Jan. 31, and Kentoffio said Ten Ring is excited to help Long Islanders get prepared.
“For a place that’s only been open three months, we’re pretty proud of what we’re able to offer,” he said.
For those new to archery, Ten Ring offers lessons every Thursday, as well as a Junior Olympic Archery Development program and a kids’ archery club.
“This space is for everybody,” Kentoffio said. “Not just people who hunt. We want anyone to walk in and have a good time with archery.”
