On Sunday, Oct. 6, the Hicksville Public Library will host citizen preparedness training to ready civilians in the face of a natural disaster.
With severe weather events becoming more frequent and extreme, it is more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared. The New York Citizen Preparedness Training Program teaches residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, be it natural or man-made.
Learn how to develop a family emergency plan and what emergency supplies you need to stock.
Each family that attends will receive one free preparedness kit.
The program will run from 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. All are welcome.
Those interested in attending must RSVP to the library by filling out a form at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HPL10624 or by calling the library at (516) 931 – 1417.
