It was a gorgeous day for the North Shore Schools 2024 Homecoming Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 21.
From toddlers to alumni, the Homecoming Fan Fest offered something fun for everyone! Thank you to the entire North Shore community for an incredible Homecoming 2024!
Congratulations to the North Shore Vikings Football team for triumphing over Valley Stream South, 53-12, and all to the students, families, alumni and community members who came out to cheer for them!
To kick-off the day, numerous Pre-K through 12th grade students, faculty, parents and residents, enthusiastically participated in a wonderful Homecoming Carnival with fun games for all ages.
Superintendent Chris Zublionis, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Carol Ann Smyth, Assistant Superintendent for Business James Pappas, along with principals, directors and members of the Board of Education, could be seen speaking to our youngest Vikings and enthusiastically cheering on our Vikings.
Crowds enjoyed watching the varsity football players, pulse dancers, cheerleaders, pep band and drumline! Thank you to the members of Viking Booster Club who could be seen grilling burgers and serving food in the shack for our hungry Vikings!
During the Homecoming Fan Fest, you could see the joy on everyone’s faces as everyone joined in the fun. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., there were a number of elementary sports clinics where our older Vikings took to the field to teach their younger peers how to kick a soccer ball, throw a football, hit a volleyball, handle a field hockey stick and cheer on the teams!
At approximately 1:30 pm, the large crowd moved into Stadium Field for the pre-game show including the Fun Run, pulse dance performances and cheerleaders. Thank you to the band and drum line for playing numerous popular songs that set the upbeat tone for the afternoon.
At 2 p.m., the Vikings took to the field to a thunderous round of applause from all those in the stands. During halftime, alumni of all ages came onto the field for a photograph! Thank you to Richie Lindlom from the first North Shore High School Class of 1958 and all the other alumni for joining us this year!
Congratulations go out to the Vikings Football team and their coaches.
A big thank you goes out to the Vikings Booster Club members who worked hard at the concession stand. Cheers to the parent organizations along with high school classes who sold various North Shore merchandise in support of our schools and programs.
Also, many thanks to the homecoming committee, Rachael Bowen, the parent associations, the Arts Angels, the athletics department and booster club, Board of Education, administrators, alumni, faculty, students, and North Shore community for an outstanding day!
Go, Vikings, Go!
