Variety Child Learning Center to host annual Boo! Walk on Oct. 6

The Variety Child Learning Center announced that its annual Boo! Walk will be at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay on Sunday, Oct. 6. Registration will be at 9 a.m. or 9 p.m. a.m., and the walk will begin at 10:00 a.m.

There will be Halloween-themed activities such as costume contests, snacks and refreshments for attendees to enjoy.

The Variety Child Learning Center is a Syosset-based not-for-profit that promotes development and education for children who require additional support. The center has programming for all ages, from six to seven-year-olds. Programs include special education classes, language support and occupational, physical and speech therapies.

This year’s Boo! Walk will honor two Variety alumni: five-year old Nicholas Vitulli and seven-year old Neel Upadhyay.

Nicholas was with Variety for two years. He began the program when he was three before he transitioned to kindergarten. He was engaged with both sensory and academic learning, and was proud of his achievements at he center. His parents credit Variety for their strong preschool education and therapies. Nicholas enjoys singing, music, swimming and playing outside.

Neel attended Variety for two years before he transitioned to elementary school. He enjoys playing with his sister, swimming and learning about dinosaurs. His parents say that Variety was an engaging environment for Neel.

The Boo! Walk is sponsored by the Paul L. Martin Charitable Trust, Suffolk Credit Union, Hanover Bank, Scott Berfas of Newmark, Carrie & Paul Fleishman and Polo Reef.
