The ACLD Foundation recently received a grant of $10,000 from the Marilyn Lichtman Foundation for their ongoing Generator Campaign.

The ACLD Foundation, established in 2016, raises funds for the exclusive support of Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc., which supports children and adults with autism, learning, and other developmental disabilities to pursue an enviable life.

The ACLD Foundation’s Generator Campaign aims to install as many generators in ACLD homes across Nassau and Suffolk Counties as possible. Since 2021, the campaign has raised more than $500,000 to install 20 generators. The ACLD Foundation created the Generator Campaign to raise funds to purchase and install generators at ACLD residences, as no other funding currently exists for this project.

The ACLD Foundation believes that providing generators to ACLD’s homes is a fundamental necessity for the care and comfort of its 400 residents. Generators offer lifesaving support by keeping essential medical equipment operational and guaranteeing residents receive the care they need without interruption.

To close out the campaign, ACLD has 14 more generators to purchase.
