3rd Congressional District

Bio:
Representative Tom Suozzi (D-NY03) is currently a chair of a border security task force. As former Glen Cove mayor, he restored the city’s ailing fiscal health, revitalized the city’s downtown business district, and spurred massive commercial development.

As former Nassau County Executive, Suozzi engineered what was heralded as “one of the greatest government financial turnarounds in the country.”

In Congress, Suozzi has worked across party lines to advocate for bipartisan solutions to secure the border and restore the SALT deduction. He has brought back more than $85 million in federal grants and programs to the district.

Priorities:
1. Immigration and Public Safety
As chair of the critical Border Security Task Force, Suozzi works across party lines to toughen border security, end the abuse of the asylum system, and ensure our actions are effective in closing the border and humane. The PBA endorsed Suozzi, a Democrat, because he is tough on crime and has a long record of supporting law enforcement.

2. SALT and Bringing Resources Back to the District
Suozzi is co-chair of the SALT Caucus, a group of lawmakers who are fighting to restore the
federal State and Local Tax (SALT) Deduction. He has also worked successfully to lower the
cost of insulin and other prescription drugs by passing groundbreaking healthcare legislation. Tom helped increase funding for the Long Island Sound by 1,000%, secured over $30 million for the Navy Grumman Plume as well as brought tens of thousands of dollars back to Long Island and Queens for community programs.

3. Defeating Terror
Suozzi has worked to support Israel in their fight against Hamas, supports defeating Putin and his aggression in Ukraine, and is continuing the job of defeating ISIS and other terror groups that target our homeland.

4. Helping Bridge the Divide
Suozzi is a centrist who stands proudly in the middle of the political spectrum. He’s taken on his own party, and he’s proven that he is willing to work with anyone willing to work hard to get things done.
