Candidate Ellen Lederer DeFrancesco’s Top 3 issues:

Cost of Living: Long Island has become increasingly unaffordable for families, young people, seniors, and veterans. Ellen understands this struggle firsthand and advocates for public ownership of essential utilities like water and electricity, currently run by for-profit corporations. By making our utilities public, Ellen aims to reduce costs and ease financial burdens on families. Responsible leadership is essential for addressing these critical issues and putting money back into the pockets of hardworking families.

Women’s Reproductive Freedom and Healthcare Rights: Ellen is a passionate advocate for women’s reproductive freedom and healthcare rights and believes in making abortion a constitutional right in New York State. She will fight to ensure that comprehensive healthcare services, including abortion, contraception, and prenatal care, remain accessible to all women.

The Environment: Deeply invested in protecting our environment, Ellen is committed to addressing the climate crisis and ensuring clean air and water for future generations. She will work to hold corporations accountable for environmental damage and support climate-friendly policies that promote sustainable living. Ellen will work to secure funding for community-led projects that support environmental protection and prioritize our planet’s health.
