Over $1,000 was donated to a food pantry within Roslyn High School by the School Parent Faculty Association.
The pantry, started by teachers Alysse Graziano and Karen Feeney, was created to offer vocational skills to their students while providing an essential service to the community. After sharing the idea with school Principal Dr. Scott Andrews, they began working on turning their vision into reality. The PFA helped equip the pantry with new shelving, carts, and a refrigerator, making the space fully functional for students.
Since then, the food pantry has grown into a fully functioning service, amassing thousands of pounds of donations. “The pantry has become a major part of our vocational program,” said Graziano. “It offers students critical skills to support their post-secondary goals.”
The PFA’s recent donation—raised through a food and resource drive— will help replenish the pantry’s supplies. Donations are welcome throughout the year. Members of the local community can donate to the pantry via Venmo @RHS-PFA.
