In celebration of Italian Heritage Month, Loggia Glen Cove #1016, Sons and Daughters of Italy in America, welcomed nine new members at its monthly membership meeting.
Club president Marisa Gambino opened the evening by emphasizing the importance of Italian heritage, encouraging everyone to fly their Italian flags in recognition of Italian Heritage Month. She remarked, “What better way to celebrate our heritage than by welcoming new members into our historic lodge?”
The nine new members—Jaime Garreta, Michael Iannetta, Caroline Iannetta, Anna Rita Pace, Anthony Passalacqua, Rosalie Passalacqua, Vita Pipitone, Ignazio Salamone, and Maria Salamone—were officially inducted, joining the oldest Sons and Daughters of Italy lodge on Long Island. Founded in 1920, Loggia Glen Cove #1016 has been a pillar of the Italian-American community for over a century, promoting Italian culture, values, and service to the Glen Cove area.
The lodge was also honored to host District II State Trustee Tony Conetta, who joined the celebration. President Gambino, along with 1st Vice President Mark Galluccio, 2nd Vice President Rocco Totino, Immediate Past President Joseph A. Gallo, and the full board, extended a warm welcome to the new members, underscoring the lodge’s commitment to carrying forward its rich traditions.
