Roslyn High School’s Marching Bulldogs placed first in the Small School Division 1 category at the 2024 New York State Field Band Conference Championship.

The event was held at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York on Sunday, Oct. 27. The Roslyn Marching Bulldogs earned a score of 94.3 for their show, titled,
“Equilibrium.”

The New York State Field Band Conference Championship show is the culmination of an eight- week season that features nearly 60 bands in 34 regional competitions throughout the
state. Band members, directors, staff members, and boosters from each competing school spend countless hours preparing for this prestigious event.

The Marching Bulldogs returned home on Monday, Oct. 28, to a jubilant crowd in front of the high school. Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy,
Superintendent Allison Brown and principal Scott Andrews, administrators, parents, and community members celebrated as the buses rolled into the circle.

“The Roslyn community is the epitome of the statement, ‘it takes a village.’ We contribute the success of this season not only to our talented and dedicated students, but to the parents, high
school administration, central administration, and the Roslyn Board of Education,” said Mr. Mauriello, Roslyn High School band director. “Without everyone’s support of the program, this truly would not be possible. This is the highest score that the program has ever received and I’m so proud and
grateful to everyone involved.”
