Westbury

Sex Offense

The Special Victims Squad placed Wilson Castillo Diaz, 26 of Westbury under arrest on Tuesday, Oct. 22, for the rape of a 5-year-old girl. The child was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.

The Special Victims Squad reported that the offense took place the previous Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Defendant Diaz illegally entered the United States in the vicinity of the Rio Grande Valley, Texas on April 12, 2014, according to police. The subject was placed under arrest by the US Border Patrol, released and later failed to appear for his immigration court hearing. The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been notified of his arrest.

Defendant Diaz is charged with 1st Degree Rape, 1st Degree Attempted Rape and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Wilfredo Blanco Molina, 41, arrested for vehicular manslaughter in Westbury.

Arrest

The Homicide Squad arrested a Hicksville man for Vehicle Manslaughter on Sunday, Oct. 27, in Westbury.

According to police, a 2006 grey Chrysler Sebring was traveling eastbound on Old Country Road when it struck a bicyclist near the intersection of State Street. The driver of the vehicle, Wilfredo Blanco Molina, 41, of 75 Meadow Lane, fled the scene and continued to drive eastbound on Old Country Road.

The bicyclist sustained extensive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Nassau County Police Paramedic. Officers located the defendant a short time later near the intersection of Old Country Road and the Wantagh State Parkway.

A Standardized Field Sobriety Test was conducted, and yielded a positive result. Molina was placed under arrest without incident. Further investigation resulted in a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine located on Molina’s person.

Molina was charged with 2nd Degree Vehicular Manslaughter, Leaving the Scene of an Incident, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Driving While Intoxicated. He was arraigned on Monday, Oct. 28, at First District Court in Hempstead.

Nassau County

Arrest

The First Precinct Special Patrol Officers reported the arrest of two males during a “Project 21” initiative, which targets the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors. The initiative was conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 30 in Nassau County.

According to Officers, two individuals were arrested.

Jubran Assofe, 32, of 16 Tyler Avenue, Hempstead sold tobacco products to a minor at Delightful Deli located at 1654 Grand Avenue, Baldwin, police said. He was charged with 3rd degree criminal sale of cannabis, sale of flavored  vapor products, unlawful possession of cannabis and possession of unstamped cigarettes.

Mohammed Al Sadi, 33, of 2402 E 17th Street, Brooklyn sold tobacco products to a minor at Yafa Smoke Shop located at 1289 Grand Avenue in Baldwin, police said. He was charged with 2nd degree unlawfully dealing with a child, sale of flavored vapor products, possession of unstamped cigarettes and multiple Town of Hempstead violations.

Assofe and Al Sadi were issued appearance tickets returnable on Monday, Nov. 18 to First District Court in Hempstead.

Levittown

Burglary

The Eighth Squad reported a Burglary that occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Levittown. The commercial burglary took place at Collectors Emporium, located at 2705 Hempstead Turnpike.

Upon arrival, officers noted three unknown subjects entered the business by breaking the rear door. Further investigation revealed that an unknown amount of merchandise had been removed from the store by the three subjects. The subjects fled the scene in an unknown direction. The investigation is ongoing.

Jericho

Vehicular Accident

The public information office reported a vehicular accident which took place in Jericho on Oct. 29. A 2016 Volvo Tractor Trailer was traveling eastbound on the Long Island Expressway and struck a 2005 Isuzu in the vicinity of Exit 40E.

The driver of the Isuzu, male, was establishing a construction zone at the time of the accident. The collision damaged the passenger side of the Volvo and caused the female passenger, 35, to become trapped.

Nassau County Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit came to extract the passenger.

The driver of the Isuzu suffered neck pain. He was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment. The passenger of the Volvo suffered a minor leg injury and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

While extracting the passenger, an officer suffered a contusion to his head and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment. The investigation is ongoing.

Hicksville

Arrest

The public information office reported the arrest of a Bayville man for an assault that occurred on Friday, Oct. 25, in Hicksville.

According to Police, officers responded to a disturbance call placed at 955 Broadway Mall of an intoxicated man acting aggressively towards the public.

Upon arrival, officers approached Allan Nunez, 30, of 3 Summitview Drive, who began attacking them, police said.

An officer sustained injuries during the violent and combative arrest. The officer was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment. Nunez was also transported to a local area hospital.

Further investigation revealed that Nunez inappropriately grabbed and forcibly touched a female victim, 15, while she walking around Round One, police said.

Nunez is charged with 2nd degree assault, forcible touching, disorderly conduct, endangering welfare of a child, 2nd degree obstructing governmental administration, 2nd degree harassment and resisting arrest. He was arraigned on Saturday, Oct. 26, at First District Court in Hempstead.
