The Great Neck Library will host a seminar led by Constance Hallinan Lagan on networking to your next job.
Finding employment is often a challenge. Job-seekers must take advantage of every contact they have, especially in times like these. This means networking.
This seminar provides a clear understanding of what the term “network” means, includes tips on successful networking and offers real-life examples of just how networking has assisted others achieve their goal of job placement.
The topics covered include advantages and pitfalls of networking, initiating networking encounters, developing taglines, networking tools, networking opportunities, the networking process, scripts to be used when calling contacts for referrals and suggestions, and following up.
Constance Hallinan Lagan, director of The Entrepreneurial Center for Small Business Development, lectures nationwide on the job search, career advancement, entrepreneurship and personal growth for corporations, government agencies, professional associations, labor unions, hospitals, senior centers, health care agencies, support groups, financial institutions, women’s organizations, churches, colleges, universities and libraries nationwide, including 101 libraries on Long Island.
Connie’s byline appears in more than sixty publications, including “Woman’s Circle,” “Entrepreneur,” “In Business,” “Income Opportunities,” “Chamber of Commerce Pacesetter,” “Profitable Merchandising,” “Successful Meetings” and “Professional Speaker.”
This program will be held at the Station Branch, 26 Great Neck Road, 2nd Level in Great Neck, on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m.
Great Neck cardholders and residents can register online, in-person or via phone. Non-residents are welcome as walk-ins, as space allows.
